In pursuit of fostering a healthier environment and advocating for an active lifestyle among Bataenos, Bataan Baseco Joint Venture Inc (BBJVI) signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Provincial Government of Bataan (PGB) and the Department of Education Bataan (DepEd Bataan) on March 13 at the Baseco Elementary School. Said partnership was established under the “Healthy Paaralan para sa Malusog at Matatag na KaBAATAN” program.
This collaboration aims to expand the program’s reach by offering nutritious lunch every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, along with healthy snacks every Tuesday and Thursday, to students at Baseco Elementary School and Sisiman Elementary School.
Dr. Carolina S. Violeta, Superintendent of DepEd Bataan Schools Division, emphasized the significance of a nutritious meal to enhance academic performance and facilitate better comprehension of lessons. Mayor Ace Jello Concepcion further encouraged parents to instill healthy eating habits among their children to combat malnutrition, an ongoing concern in the municipality.
Moreover, Governor Jose Enrique S. Garcia III underscored the vital role of the program in educating the students about the importance of nutritious food, thereby promoting better health and extending the life expectancy of Bataan residents.
